Metal X-mas songs - Top5

So, on the second day of christmas I want to post some metal songs for the christmas time. I found songs recorded between 1990 and 2007 by various artists. The idea I got indirect by some of my friends (thanks to Vanessa, Fabian and Andreas. This post I dedicate to them, 'cause they kind of inspire me :))
I hope you'll listen to them, because I really like those songs and I just can suggest them to you. (I made a playlist on youtube, so you can listen through some of the songs! Click HERE!)
  1. Manowar - Silent Night (2007)
  2. Iron Maiden - Another Rock'n'Roll Christmas (1996)
  3. Kamelot - We Three Kings (2000)
  4. Skid Row - Jingle Bells (2007)
  5. AC/DC - Mistress for christmas (1990)
In 2007 Manowar released their first christmas song called "Silent Night" in both English and German versions. It was free to download at the band's website. I have to say, it's not a song, I would expect from Manowar, but it's a christmas song called "Silent Night", so I think it doesn't have to be extra-loud. The first two minutes are more symphonic, along the lines of if Trans-Siberian Orchestra was covering the song. But up until the end it rather can be called a metal song. All in all it's a nice christmans song, which starts kind of normal and developes into a louder and more screamed one. I personally like it the most! :)
Iron Maiden released "Another Rock'n Roll Christmas" the year I was born (1996) :) I think, it's a great song, but it's a little bit to un-loud for a typical metal song (well, as I said about Manowar's single: it's christmas, so I guess it's okay to be a bit more quiet) and the lyrics are not that usual for metal songs. Although I like it, because the instrumental elements and the voice of Blaze Bayley sounds amazing!
As the third favorite song I got "We Three Kings" (2000), an instrumental on their first live album by Kameloth for you. It`s a pity, that this song is just a instrumental one, but I like it even though there are no lyrics. In my opinion it's a classic, symphonic song, matched with great instruments, just as guitars, electric guitars, basses, etc. and with a good melody.
"Jingle Bells" by Skid Row (2007) is a song for metal-lovers at christmas time. I like the electric guitar-played parts and the whole instrumental thing. The voice of Johnny Solinger makes the song more 'metally'. But all together it has almost the same lyrics like the original version of Jingle Bells, and it's not a very special metal christmas song.
In the song "Mistress for Christmas" by AC/DC from 1990's "Razor's Edge" album Brian Johnsons voice really sounds great! It's rather a slow and not that loud song, but this way the voice comes out better. The only critical thing: AC/DC end with the lines "I wanna hear you coming down my smoke stack / I wanna ride your reindeer honey and ring the bells" which sounds (in my opinion completely) weird.

I hope you like some of the songs, or at least listened to them after reading this article! :)

    X-Mas-themed Top10

Woohooo! It's Christmas! I wish all the people, who read my blog a merry, merry christmas! On the occasion of this very special day I put together a Top10-list, according to christmas. So have a nice weekend and here you got some suggestions of what you can listen to! ;)
    1. OneRepublic - Christmas Without You
    2. Lady GaGa - White Christmas
    3. Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You feat. Justin Bieber
    4. Mando Diao - Christmas Could Have Been Good
    5. My Chemical Romance - All I Want For Christmas Is You
    6. Sara Bareilles - Love Is Christmas
    7. U2 - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
    8. Gabriella Cilmi - Warm This Winter
    9. Simple Past - Christmas List
    10. Michael Bublé - Christmas
The first song (I fell in love with the live version) is by OneRepublic and is called "Christmas Without You". One Republic released their first christmas single this year (on iTunes on November 21) and wrote on their Twitter:
"putting final touches on our Christmas song- we went old school, doesnt sound like ANYTHING we've done. we want it timeless. Crosby, sinatra"
In my opinion it's a slow, lovely song representing the need for people at christmas time. I watched the live performance at National Christmas Tree Lightning 2011 and Ryan Tedder's voice sounds so good with this song. It gives the right christmas feeling and the lyrics fit to almost everyones feelings missing someone important (like their parents, somebody very close, like sisters, brothers, girl- or boyfriend, etc. ...) so I think it's a beautiful christmas song. I love it! :)
Do you know a x-mas song by Lady GaGa? Yeah, I still can remember "Christmas Tree" (exclusively premiered on Perez Hilton on December 2, 2008, features Space Cowboy, digital download released December 16, 2008) but the song I am aiming at is GaGa's new single "White Christmas", a cover version of Bing Crosby's holiday classic with some added lyrics by Lady GaGa, released on November 26, 2011 on her new album ("A Very Gaga Holiday", including three more tracks). I just heard the live version, but it's amazing, fitting to a wonderful christmas feeling. You just get a feeling of chilling while eating christmas cookies, drinking some hot chocolate and listening to GaGa's single. It's totally different to "Christmas Tree", but GaGa still put some naughty, nice lyrics into the latest song. My opinion: x-mas feeling for everyone! ;)
I'm listening every December to Mariah Carey's classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You". But this year I heard the new version featuring Justin Bieber first of all and I'm amazed. It fits more linto the modern time, because it's a household song, but features Justin Bieber, the main attraction for little girls and teenagers. So it's a perfect re-performance of the song, which kind of unites the parents with their children! I really like the duet of the two!
The next song I've heard on German telvision. It's "Christmas Could Have Been Good" by Mando Diao. It's a pretty song, the melody sounds kind of familiar to me, I don't know why. The instrumental part is rather simple, but I think that fits better to the origin meaning of christmas (compare with N°6). I didn't liked the begining of the song when I've heard it the first time, but after I listened to the whole song, especially the refrain, I find it is amazing, I really like Mando Diao's new single!
The fifth song is just the same as the third one, but with one exception: it's sang by My Chemical Romance and it's a total different music genre. I just found it on YouTube, as I was searching for christmas songs. I think it's a nice, rocking christmas song, which is more different that Mariah Carey's version! But it has still the same lyrics, so it's just Mariah's message wrapped into other instrumental and vocal elements. Listen to it, if you like it more rock!
Sara Bareilles also released a x-mas single this year, called "Love Is Christmas". It's slowly, combined with her quiet voice it sounds wonderful and in my opinion it just represents the origin, plain meaning of christmas (symbol: love; 'christmas as a religious ceremony'). I really like this single :)
The next one is "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" by U2, released in 1967. I actually love this song, even if it's 24 yrs old. The lyrics are really lovely and great and I like the melody (and of course Bono's voice sounds incredibly amazing!). So maybe you already know it, and if not you can listen to in on YouTube!
So we're up to the next single, and I think I already mentioned it last year or on the site "music" (left sidebar) a few months ago. It's "Warm This Winter" by Gabriella Cilmi, a song I could listen to every December! It's a rythmic one and it's faster than the average of christmas songs (actually it's not a specific x-mas-themed song), but I still get a holiday feeling (and it's the only song title on the list, which bares no "Christmas" :D)
On the ninth place I put "Christmas List" by Simple Plan. I was listening to my Christmas CD and found it. I still like it, 'cause it's a nice song with kind of funny lyrics, and the electric guitar solo is amazing, but I know it since 2009, so it just got the ninth place. Anyway, it's a nice christmas song!
Song N°10 is called "Christmas" (guess, I've heard this word enough already :D) and it was released by Michael Buble this December. His unique and great voice really fits to the song and the lyrics are quite nice. I know a few other christmas songs by him but this is the best one I think. It's still not that great as the former nine songs, but I like it anyway! :)

    Have a Merry Christmas!

    Karlie Kloss ♥ VOGUE Germany

Karlie Kloss is the model in Vogue Germany for December 2011 issue. She presented the eastern inspired fashion by some designers, such as Gucci, Chanel, Roberto Cavalli, Chloé, and others. She styled in gems and floral accessories. This American model shows off the mature side in a sophisticated side, photographed by Alexi Lubomirski.
The pictures are very sexy, natural, pretty, etc. The makeup is beyond amazingness, it's really great, eye-catching, colorful! The fashion she wears is wonderful, elegant, quite simple, but extreme strikingly and colorful! I just LOVE the photoshoot!
Here are some of the photos

    Nail Polish - N°2

    • BLACK

I love to paint my nails black! It's such a fierce, but also precious color! And it looks both good when you have long nails or not! I'm really obsessed with black nail polish. As I was searching for images on Google I found a picture (I'll show under this) with black matte nails. It looks fantastique! But the only thing I don't like is black nail polish with glitter. I'm not a big fan of glitter nails :) But everyone has its own opinion, so buy the nail polish you like!

    • PINK

I absolutely love pink nails, because pink is my favorite color and it suits to every type of skin color! Just think of Nicki Minaj, Rihanna or Katy Perry, they all have different skin colors, but their pink nails look amazing! There are also a lot of shades, just like light pink, glitter pink, neon pink, baby pink, rosé pink, blush pink, intensive pink, dark pink, etc. (that are all names I could've imagine :D)! I ♥ PINK NAILS!

    • BABY BLUE

Baby blue nails = LOVE! Nails painted in very light blue colors are perfect for a sun-tanned skin! It's just eye-catching. Your nails are gonna be the highlight of every outfit ;) And such colors are looking cute and fabulous, so you're going to fall in love with them! :) Look at those pictures:

So, I hope you like the pictures (source: google images and tumblr) and I'll show you more next time!

    Femme Totale ♥

Dita von Teese launched her new fragrance "Femme Totale"!

The 38-year-old burlesque star wrote on Twitter, that she was currently working with perfumers in the French countryside:
"Isolated at a chateau in the French countryside w/my perfumers"
Dita gave a hint on the scent, and told it's something really seductive and bold:
"No fruit, no vanilla, no candy!! Velvet sensuality w/a dash of vulgarity! I want to evoke passion with fragrance….intense love/lust and distaste/fear rather than merely popular acceptance."
    She told WWD:
"What I really want to do is make my own fragrance. I don’t want to smell like anyone else. I have to talk to the smaller companies, because the bigger ones, like Coty, are like ‘Well, not everyone knows your name, like the Kardashians or Victoria Beckham."
    Later on she said:
"I don't go to the salon when I need to color my hair, I pull out my box of hair dye. I want women to understand that you don't have to have the glam squad to put you together"
Dita also thinks of making her own makeup line, that's what she said:
"I want to do my own makeup line, because I feel like things are missing in the world . . . I'm constantly trying to mix up colors. Also, I mix my own body makeup. I love the idea of beautiful packaging for cosmetics."

I personally love the fragrance, it really smells seductive and sexy!

    Male Models - Rick Genest

I guess you know many female models, just like Candice Swanepoel, Kate Moss, Miranda Kerr, Heidi Klum, Karolina Kurkova, etc.! But can you tell me the names of famous men on the catwalk? That's no problem, because I will inform you about the (in my opinion) most important, special and hottest ones!

    Rick with Nicola Formichetti
One of my favorite (actually, it IS my favorite ^^) male models is Rick "Zombie Boy" Genest (also called "Rico the Zombie"). He was born August 7th, 1985 in Montreal and grew up in Châteauguay. He is tattooed across the majority of his body (he got his first tattoo at the age of 16 and spent thousands of dollars since then, e.g for the skeleton-tattoo, which he and the tattoo artist Frank Lewis created together).
He was discovered by Lady Gaga's fashion director Nicola Formichetti in 2010, after he became famous through a known facebook fan page about himself.

His first appearance in the famous public was on January 19th, 2011, where Genest was featured in the MUGLER Fall/Winter Mens Collection headlining the collection on Muglers wbsite. Since then he became very fast known all over the world. He's on the cover of e.g Vogue Hommes Japan and GQ Style UK and he also was featured in the video of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way"!

If you want to know more about Rick Genest, or  take a look at the gallery/blog, just visit http://rickgenest.com/!
I'll tell you about another male model next time (the next one had a photoshooting with Rick Genest)! Anyway, I hope you liked this one! :)

    xoxo Agnes

Here are some pictures of Rick Genest! Enjoy them!

    Just like a model 1

"What's that?" - You'll see looks, shown on the runway and worn by female celebrities! I'll do it in three parts à four stars and I'm going to give you some information about the outfit and add a few pictures showing the model and the celeb!

I'm gonna start with Lady Gaga, who was seen recently in New York wearing a brown/grey gown by Valentino (Fall 2011 collection), nude heelless shoes by Noritaka Tatehana, a fur stola and haed accessoiry made of bird feathers. The complete look was brown/nude/grey and in my opinion Gaga combined Valentino's maxi dress with perfect matching accessoires! Also her hair and makeup suited to the whole look! I really like the outfit, Gaga looked marvelous in Valentino!

Victoria Beckham, known as a singer, fashion designer, David's wife and a fashionable young woman wore her own collection as she shopped at Marc Jacobs in September. She combined the blush pink capped sleeved shift dress from her SS11 collection with sunglasses, nude platform heels and a black hand bag. But the most wonderful accessoire she had was her newborn Harper. "It's actually quite nice to get out of an elasticated waist and into fashionable clothes again.", she admitted about her outfit. I love Victoria's fashion and this look!

The next woman I want to talk about is a singer, born on the 25th of October 1984 in California, she was seen with pink hair recently and she won three MTV VMAs this year! You know who I mean? Yeah, right, it's Katy Perry! I'm in love with her geisha-style at the VMAs 2011! Katy wore a mini dress, embroidered with cherry blossom shaped sequins and crystals on a baby blue background made of neoprene sequins, designed by Atelier Versace (Fall 2011). She combined it with pink Jimmy Choo sandals, a parasol suiting the look and a cherry blossom flower hair accessoire in her candy pink hair. She was an eyecatcher on the red carpet! The pretty makeup and her pink lips, a Lorraine Schwartz's signature 18K pink diamond/gold 2B Happy bracelet and a beautiful coral/diamond ring completed the outfit. Katy, you're looking amazing as a geisha!

The last dress is designed by Zuhair Murad (Fall 2010) and was seen at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards at Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City. Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and the both younger sisters Kylie and Kendall Kardashian attended the event in August 2010, where Kim wore a black mini dress by Murad, which she combined with a black clutch bag and black platform pumps. Her wonderful smokey eye makeup, the dark/silver ring and the black nail polish she had applied made the outfit perfect! Well done, Kim, you look really fashionable!

So, that's the first part of "Just like a model"! I'll write two more post with four different looks by four different designers worn by four different women!
Anyway, I hope you liked this one! And I can tell you, you're gonna meet two celebs again in the next part! ;)

    Nail Polish - Summer ♥

    • LAVENDER

One of my favorite nail polish colors in summer is lavender, because it looks sooo good on tanned skin! And lavender is one of my favorite colors, too! Everytime I paint my nails with lavender nail polish, I'm just so obsessed with them!! Lavender is just ahhh! :)

    •  BLOOD RED

I love Lady Gaga's blood red nails she has for example in the Judas video. They look really amazing! Anyway, dark red nails are truely magnificent *___*

    • WHITE

Have you ever seen nails painted with white nail polish or a nail whitener on sun tanned skin? I just can say it's an eyecatcher! The nails look healthier and just pretty! I love white nails! :)

I do not own any rights to these pictures (source: google images)!
I will show you more next time!

    i ♥ !

BVLGARI MAN. I'm so in love with this fragrance, even though it's for men!
I first smelled it when I was reading a magazine in which a fragrance sample was added. It's so wonderful!
Smell it, love it, buy it! ;)
That's a description about this perfume (I think it's the official one):

BVLGARI MAN is a white woody oriental fragrance, an elegant and sophisticated vision of Masculinity for an authentic man, profoundly charismatic and radiant. An original signature of great modernity.

    Men's Fashion by Louis Vuitton

Men, pay attention to this post! ;)
It's about a month ago since I saw this collection by Louis Vuitton. I show you my faves from the Spring/Summer 2012 Men's collection below! The fashion is great (that's typical for LV!) and the male models are looking great!
Look No.1 is nice, not the best one but I love the sunglasses and the trousers. The jacket is too normal for me and it's not nice-looking eighter.
The second look is really great. The jacket, shirt, trousers, sunglasses and the tie fit together! I would wear this outfit if I were a man. It looks elegant and gorgeous at the same time! Well, if you wear this at a date (with me), you would get plus points from me! ;)
The third picture shows an amazing outfit, which I would rather wear at home or when you're at a friends house, but it's nothing real for going out I think. But it looks good and comfortable, so if you want to chill just put this outfit on and you'll look great :D
The fourth outfit is good for warm days when you e.g. go out shopping with your girlfriend or when you're visiting big cities like Rome, Milan, San Francisco, etc.!
On the fifth picture you see a pretty outfit when you travel in the spring because it's not a warm outfit, but with the jacket on you can also be outside without freezing when there's no sun up on the sky. And of course you can put your stuff in the suitcase bag! (By the way, the model looks really hot! :D)
The next look reminds me of outfits worn at ships (maybe it reminds me of this because the clothes are navy blue, white and sth looking like golden). And I like the shoes, my favorites I think!
The seventh outfit is my favorite! The whole look is perfect! It's not even bad that there's no tie. It looks elegant, neat, nice, fine but not too serious. Love it!
And the last picture shows a neat look you can wear in summer. The shoes are simple as well as the t-shirt and the shorts. The "eye catcher" is the belt. Well done!
